Grade 7 Day is a day for the incoming grade 8 \u00a0students to come to the school and positively get connected.<\/h4>\n

It is an opportunity to begin to explore the school community and meet some of the adults and senior students who will look to make the high school experience positive and rich. Options around year-long electives will be highlighted. Links to these programs are here: https:\/\/secondary.sd42.ca\/gss\/grade-7-info<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Staff are supported by a group of “Link Crew” and Leadership students, who work to ensure a supportive and welcoming transition.<\/h4>\n

The Grade 7 day schedule is as follows:<\/h4>\n
Students arrive at 8:20.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n
8:30-meet in the gym (get connected to their leader who accompanies them for the day)<\/b><\/div>\n
8:50-9:30-attend class 1<\/b><\/div>\n
9:30-10:20-presentation in the theatre<\/b><\/div>\n
10:25-11:15-class 2<\/b><\/div>\n
11:20-12:00-class 3<\/b><\/div>\n
12:00-12:30 lunch provided in the gym (hotdog, drink and chips)<\/b><\/div>\n
12:30-1:00-orientation, tour, Q and A<\/b><\/div>\n
1:00-2:15-spirit assembly in the gym<\/b><\/div>\n
2:15-dismissal<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Things of Note:<\/div>\n
-your child will have a student leader with them all day<\/div>\n
-your child does not need to bring anything<\/div>\n
-pick-up is at 2:15<\/div>\n
-let Ms. Jaclyn Gibbs know if: 1-your child has allergies, 2-your child has a full time EA<\/div>\n

We recommend that your student dress comfortably as there will be variety of activities that students will participate in.<\/h4>\n

Please ensure that your pick up time meets the above timeline. Additionally, note the GSS Parking lot is a challenge. We suggest a plan and walk strategy, meeting your child approximately 5 minute walk away.<\/h4>\n
